2 Samuel 11:2
Now, when evening came, David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of the royal palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing, and she was very pretty.
Now, the effects of the corrupt nature are obvious: illicit sex, perversion, promiscuity, envy, drunkenness, wild partying, and similar things. I’ve told you in the past and I’m telling you again that people who do these kinds of things will not inherit God’s kingdom.
2 Samuel 12:10-12
So warfare will never leave your house because you despised me and took the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife. “This is what the Lord says: I will stir up trouble against you within your own household, and before your own eyes I will take your wives and give them to someone close to you. He will go to bed with your wives in broad daylight. You did this secretly, but I will make this happen in broad daylight in front of all Israel.”
The payment for sin is death, but the gift that God freely gives is everlasting life found in Christ Jesus our Lord.
When someone is tempted, he shouldn’t say that God is tempting him. God can’t be tempted by evil, and God doesn’t tempt anyone. Everyone is tempted by his own desires as they lure him away and trap him. Then desire becomes pregnant and gives birth to sin. When sin grows up, it gives birth to death.
